Nomad Tanzania is one of East Africa’s leading small safari companies. We’ve been operating safaris in Tanzania since the late 1980s when Richard Bonham's mobile camp first went into the Selous. A time when few people had heard of such remote places and fewer still had visited.
At that time Nomad's founders were the pioneers reaching some of Tanzania’s most beautiful, and at the time seriously inaccessible spots. Today – thanks to their efforts - it’s no exaggeration to say that our small idyllic safari camps, many of which were the first of their kind in their area (see photo galleries) occupy some of the most coveted locations in the whole of Africa:
Serengeti Safari Camp in the Serengeti, Sand Rivers Selous and Kiba Point, in the Selous Game Reserve, Greystoke Mahale in The Mahale Mountains on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, Chada Katavi in Katavi National Park, Nduara Loliondo in Loliondo's Maasailand on the edge of the Serengeti and Lamai Serengeti our new camp opening in the northern Serengeti end January 2011.
Whilst our camps are a great source of pride to us, our motivation goes far deeper than simply providing places to stay. We’re a group of individuals with a deep love of the African bush and a passion for sharing it with those who share our interest. We have a superb team of guides, many of whom have been with us for almost 15 years – in whose knowledge and dedication we take great pride.
